Herat. Pedriatric Hospital. The Italian soldiers, engaged in United Nations peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, are daily involved in the control of the territory and in reconstruction efforts and aid to the population. Pediatric hospital in Herat, built in 2008 with the efforts of the Afghan and Italian government.
Several Afghan security men, together with soldiers of the Folgore, protect the area around the hospital from possible attacks by insurgents.
